The most effective support you can provide to the seminarians in Papua New Guinea is through your prayers. Prayer has the power to accomplish the seemingly impossible. We encourage you to consider sending letters of encouragement and spiritual support to our seminarians, which can be read aloud to them. Our seminarians greatly value receiving correspondence from abroad. We invite you to offer your support not in financial terms, but through your sincere prayers.
Our seminary does not receive funding from the government of Papua New Guinea. Instead, we rely on tuition fees paid by each diocese and religious congregation for their seminarians. We also obtain some support from the Pontifical Society of St. Peter the Apostle (POSPA). Recently, we were fortunate to receive substantial assistance from the Province of St. Augustine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, designated for constructing new dormitories and a new chapel following sixty years of operation. We extend our sincere gratitude to all our donors. As the cost of living has risen, our salaries and tuition fees have remained unchanged, which presents a growing challenge for bishops in sending their seminarians. Therefore, we respectfully request any material support that you may be able to provide, which would be immensely appreciated.
We invite you to support us by volunteering to participate in visits, assisting with part-time lectures, and contributing textbooks to our Seminary. Your involvement would be greatly appreciated and would significantly impact in our seminary formation.
