Saint Fidelis still stands tall today for the many sacrifices and hard work of our past rectors. These rectors gave their time and talents to educate and form young men, some to be priests and some to be great fathers and husbands. If a visitor were to land in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and mention the name "Saint Fidelis", the chances are you will be welcomed with a smile and respect. Most of them were either graduates of Saint Fidelis or have known someone who graduated from Saint Fidelis when it was a High School College. The location of Saint Fidelis was recently added to Google Maps, but the name is well known by many in Papua New Guinea, thanks to these rectors who worked very hard to educate young men of Papua New Guinea

Fr. Christian devoted 59 years to the formation, starting in the U.S. as a rector and continuing that role here in PNG as a founding rector of St. Fidelis Seminary, PNG.

Fr. Brian Newman came from the Pennsylvania Province in the United States and his first assignment was in Erave, PNG. He returned to the United States in 2013 and currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Fr. Peter came from the St. Conrad Province in the United States and arrived here in 1968. He is currently residing in Mendi, PNG.

Fr. Ben came to PNG from the Pennsylvania Province in 1960 and worked for a while in the outstations in the Southern Highlands. Then he briefly went to the United States to study Canon Law and returned to PNG to assist the Church here in Canon Law. Our brother Benjamin Madden, OFM Cap., made his transitus to the Lord's eternal life on Friday, July 14, 2023 , at our motherhouse, St. Augustine Friary in Pittsburgh, PA.

Fr. Don came from the St. Conrad Province and he arrived here in PNG in 1971. He was a rector twice at St. Fidelis. He has returned to his Home Province and is currently residing there.

Fr. Bill came from the Pennsylvania Province and arrived here in 1999. Soon after he arrived to PNG, he was assigned as a Rector here. He has returned to his mother Province and is currently residing there.

Br. Jim came from the Pennsylvania Province and he arrived here in 2009. He has returned back to his mother Province and is currently residing there.

Before he became a friar, He was a lay missionary here at St. Fidelis. Then he returned home and joined the Order of Friars Minor Capuchins with the Pennsylvania Province. He was ordained a deacon in the United States and later a priest here in Papua New Guinea.
Negombo, Sri Lanka - Pittsburgh Province

Fr. Roshan was originally from Sri Lanka, but he travelled to Canada, completed his Engineering degree and worked in the U.S.A for a time until he joined the Pittsburgh Province.
