St. Fidelis Propaedeutic Seminary is dedicated to forming
young men into missionary disciples who are servant leaders and shepherds
modeled after the heart of Jesus Christ in Papua New Guinea.
We provide an environment that fosters holiness and
encourages seminarians to fully embrace their baptismal call. Participants
learn to live an eschatological life as brothers from different provinces while
observing the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.
The primary purpose of the seminary is to help each
seminarian grow and become configured to Christ, the High Priest and servant
leader. Additionally, before they begin their journey to major seminary for
advanced studies, seminarians at St. Fidelis receive instruction to enhance
their English skills and basic catechism, scripture, and other religious
studies.
St. Fidelis Seminary trains young men to become self-sacrificial
shepherds for the people of God, igniting a fire in Papua New Guinea and
transforming the nation’s soul to bring about God’s Kingdom on Earth.
Just as an individual comprises both body and soul, a nation
similarly embodies these two fundamental elements. The soul infuses life into
the body; without it, the body is devoid of vitality. As scripture states, “Unless
the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain” (Psalm 127:1). Without
the firm moral teachings of Christ, a nation cannot thrive on its own. The
self-sacrificial shepherds, modeled after Christ, are called to transform the
soul of Papua New Guinea through their teachings and their lived examples.
